Design Philosophy
I believe in creating products that serve individuals, systems that support human agency, and experiences that foster understanding.
I use human-centered design and the following principles as a framework for building thoughtful, effective, and inclusive solutions.
-
Start with understanding
Great design begins with curiosity. I go beyond surface-level needs to explore the systems, constraints, and people involved—because the better we understand the context, the more meaningful and lasting the solution can be.
-
Reframe the problem
Design is rarely linear. I revisit assumptions, shift perspectives, and reframe challenges as I learn. This helps me uncover the real problem—and craft better, more informed solutions.
-
Embrace ambiguity
Every complex challenge comes with uncertainty. I’m comfortable navigating gray areas, identifying opportunities through research, and shaping direction through iteration, reflection, and adaptability.
-
Collaborate
Collaboration is central to how I work. I value open dialogue with cross-functional partners, co-creation with stakeholders, and feedback from users throughout the process. I believe the best solutions come from shared understanding and diverse perspectives.
-
Earn trust through clarity
In high-stakes spaces like healthcare and defense, trust is everything. I design with honesty, clarity, and respect—creating experiences that are accessible, intuitive, and grounded in real human needs.
-
Design for outcomes
It’s easy to get caught up in features and deliverables—but I prioritize clarity, purpose, and impact. I design experiences that solve the right problems and drive meaningful results for users and the business.
Designing inclusive experiences
I believe everyone deserves access to products and experiences that respect their needs, abilities, and context.
Inclusive design is central to my practice. I aim to create experiences that remove barriers, support diverse needs, and promote equitable access. This includes designing for a range of physical and cognitive abilities, and applying universal design principles to ensure usability for all.
-
Human-Centered Design
I conduct inclusive research to understand the unique needs and perspectives of individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and abilities.Co-creation and Stakeholder Engagement
I bring diverse voices into the design process through co-creation, usability testing, and feedback loops—ensuring decisions reflect real user needs.Breaking Down Barriers in Healthcare and Government Sectors
I focus on addressing structural inequities that limit access—especially in marginalized communities—by designing systems that promote fairness and equity.Cultural Sensitivity and Contextual Understanding
I consider cultural context, values, and expectations to design experiences that resonate across diverse user groups and lived experiences.Continuous Learning and Growth
II stay informed on inclusive design trends, best practices, and DEI research to evolve my perspective and design with intention.
